Two Helping Hands, State subsidies to Private companies and the mobility of the Swedish Work Force

The aim is to analyze the Swedish mobility- and localization subsidies from a long-term policy initiation and implementation perspective by mapping and analyzing the economic policy trade-offs between mobility and support to companies in the rural areas in Sweden. The project's new knowledge contribution deals with the central government dealing with contradictory policy instruments , where causes behind the mobility policy and localization policy and their implementation are studied for the period 1957-1987 when the subsidy policy twin goals of converting and preserving took place.
